Purplebricks is a pioneering online estate agency that disrupted the traditional real estate model by removing the need for high commission-based agents. They offer a low-cost way to sell property online while maintaining quality service and support.

Despite their innovative model and global recognition, Purplebricks needed to boost their Australian marketing performance across paid channels and improve cost-efficiency across the board. That’s when they turned to King Kong.

Purple Bricks engaged King Kong to drive quality leads at scale in a highly competitive property market. They needed to ramp up paid search and social performance, improve conversion rates and lower acquisition costs, all while preparing for rapid expansion and maintaining brand integrity.

Our Approach

We began with a comprehensive audit of Purple Bricks’ existing ad accounts and conversion funnels. Identifying key drop‑off points, we refined targeting, and ad copy. Next, we built a simple yet highly optimised one page website tailored for lead capture.

On Google Ads, we segmented campaigns into branded and unbranded search, adjusting bids and budgets to maximise return. For Meta, we developed audience layers focused on property seekers and retargeted recent website visitors to increase consideration.

Finally, we scaled budgets methodically and tested creative variations to drive continuous improvement.

Results

Within the first quarter, Purple Bricks’ conversion rate climbed from 1.66% to 2.13%, a 28% uplift. Ad spend grew from $50,000 to $250,000 without sacrificing efficiency, delivering over $10 million in revenue.

Unbranded search CPA dropped by 52.6% from $845 to $400, while branded search CPA fell to just $45, an 81.6% reduction. Facebook Ads achieved a $900 CPA, undercutting traditional media channels by 25% and demonstrating the power of digital pivot.
